In the emotionally charged world of Sister Wives, fan loyalty can shift in an instant—and Christine Brown is feeling the heat. Once celebrated for her candor and courage in leaving Kody Brown, she’s now being likened to none other than Robyn Brown, the show’s longtime lightning rod for fan frustration.
So what changed?
The tipping point came during the latest installment of the one-on-one interviews—those sit-downs where each cast member shares their side of the season’s drama with host Sukanya Krishnan.
Unlike group tell-alls of earlier seasons, these solo interviews are meant to draw out the unfiltered truth. But instead of applause, Christine’s recent comments stirred backlash.
The Meri Dilemma: A Missed Opportunity for Solidarity
Fans were particularly disheartened by Christine’s response when Kody confessed he had been afraid to tell Meri how he truly felt about their deteriorating relationship.
Rather than challenging Kody’s narrative or showing empathy toward Meri, Christine offered what some saw as a defense of his cowardice. That didn’t sit well with viewers.
“Meri needed a conversation about her and Kody’s relationship,” one fan wrote, echoing a sentiment that many shared. Christine’s failure to advocate for that moment of closure seemed like a betrayal—not just of Meri, but of the sisterhood the show once aimed to portray.
The Robyn Comparison: A Tough Pill to Swallow
For longtime followers of the series, likening Christine to Robyn is a dramatic shift. Robyn has often been perceived as manipulative or two-faced—accusations that Christine had largely escaped until now. But recent fan reactions suggest the gap is narrowing.
“I understand the two have had their issues, but I think it was pretty low for her to try to justify Kody saying he was scared of how Meri would react,” a viewer commented online. “The whole ‘we were walking on eggshells a lot’ is such bullshit when it comes to Meri being owed a discussion of THEIR relationship!”
Others noted how Christine’s comments about Meri often carry a subtle sting. “Is it just me, or does Christine always feel two-faced when she talks about Meri? Things always feel backhanded or a double-edged sword, lol.”
These aren’t isolated opinions. A growing number of fans believe Christine is struggling to shed the emotional residue of polygamy—the quiet competition between wives, the undercurrents of blame, the unspoken pecking order.
“It just shows that Christine has done a lot of work,” one fan observed, “but still has a lot to do in terms of truly shedding the polygamist attitude of tearing down the other women in your life.”
A Fanbase Divided
Once riding high on the goodwill of her post-Kody independence, Christine is now facing the uncomfortable reality of shifting fan perception. She may not be the show’s villain—but in this moment, she’s not its hero either.
“This moment really made me sad,” a fan wrote. “Christine REALLY needs to do a lot of introspection about her perception of Meri vis-a-vis Kody.”
As the Sister Wives saga continues to unfold, one thing is certain: the viewers are paying attention—and they’re not afraid to call out what feels like hypocrisy. Whether Christine will reflect on this feedback or continue down the current path remains to be seen.
For now, the comparison to Robyn stands as a cautionary note: in the world of reality TV, character arcs can turn on a dime.

My belief is that there’s always been a little attitude from Christine, and Janelle towards Robyn. Christine would say things about Robyn, and pretend that it was an innocent slip. Janelle also had her own type of nastiness, and it was basically because she, and Christine realized that Kody cared more for Robyn than for them, but should they have expected. They chose too be part of a relationship with their man, not husband, was sleeping with three other women, so surprise surprise, he feel in love with one of, and it wasn’t them. They talked about Robyn around their children, that was a way for them too manipulate their children. It’s odd that they say so much bad things about Kody, and Robyn, but “I ” have never heard any of them say that they did anything wrong during their relationship.
