Everything You Need To Know About Meghan Markle’s Modern Maternity StyleShe’s only been a member of the royal family for a little over six months, but it’s without a doubt that Meghan Markle has done one heck of a job turning heads everywhere she goes. As a matter of fact, the pregnant Duchess – who is expecting her first child with her husband Prince Harry – has been making headlines for her modern yet practical maternity style, and here’s why.

Meghan Markle has always been someone who likes to experiment with different styles but throughout her pregnancy so far she’s been keeping things rather simple. According to People Magazine, the Duchess of Sussex wore her first maternity dress during a public appearance she made to Smart Works in London. It’s one of her new patronages. The organization helps helps vulnerable and longterm unemployed women regain the skills and confidence to get into work.

The Duchess wore a chic black Eliza Dress by Hatch, which retails for about $218. The midi-length dress (which is Meghan’s favorite style) features a subtle ribbed crew neckline detail and is made of stretch cotton viscose knit. There are plenty of Hollywood stars who are big fans of the New York-based maternity brand, including Rachel Weisz, Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba and Reese Witherspoon.

Meghan accessorized her look with an Oscar De La Renta swing coat and Felicity earrings from the ethical jewelry brand, Kimai. It’s without a doubt that Meghan Markle’s fans can’t wait to see more of her top maternity picks in the coming weeks. After all, the Duchess has made it pretty clear that she would like to continue working for as long as she can. While Kensington Palace has not confirmed her due date, reports indicate that she and Prince Harry are expecting their child sometime in the Spring, which can be anytime from March to late May.

I really do not care for her “fashion sense” or lack thereof. I think it is in some cases way too casual for royal engagements. Her hair, too, needs a major upgrade. It is my belief that as an American, she has not yet caught on to (or maybe accepted) the formality and traditional customs of dress and demeanor required of the RF in certain situations. Though I do not believe in comparing people, I think Princess Diana had a real talent for blending her brand of “realness” with the constraints of her position. Meghan would do well to study news tapes of Diana at work.
