He might be one of the most popular figures in Great Britain, but in the United States it’s a different story. A lot of royal fans and critics are both surprised and not surprised that Prince Harry ranks higher in the popularity polls than his older brother. Here’s what you need to know.

According to a new report, it looks like the future king of England isn’t as popular in America as the Duke of Sussex. In a new YouGov poll, about 48 percent of those surveyed said that they like Prince Harry while 24 percent said that they disliked him.

In comparison, only 43 percent of those polled said that they favored Prince William while about 21 percent said that they didn’t care very much about the Prince of Wales.

And while there really isn’t much of a difference between the amount of people who favor Harry over William, for the Prince of Wales, the gap in numbers is significant enough for him to be concerned over the matter.

After all, for the members of the royal family, it’s all about their popularity and how much they are liked by the public.

In other words, appearance and image means everything for the royals. For Prince William, this is not good news. Even with Prince Harry trashing the royal family the way that he did, he’s still more popular than Prince William, who sees himself as a victim in his never-ending feud with his brother.

What’s Next For The Prince Of Wales?

Then again, many Americans might sympathize more with Prince Harry simply because he’s become America’s new, adopted prince. He left everything he ever knew behind for a new life in California with his wife, Meghan Markle.

Prince William simply might have to work a little harder to win the hearts of his royal fans abroad. That, or he might have to buy a ticket straight to Los Angeles and try to work things out with his brother. That should definitely help both princes win several points in the popularity polls for sure.
