Here’s What You Need To Know About Meghan Markle’s Eternity Ring

It looks like Prince Harry really does love to spoil his wife Meghan Markle with all of the best things that the world has to offer. And why shouldn’t he? He’s head-over-heels in love with his wife and it shows.

Prince Harry Spoils Meghan Markle

Just recently many eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that the Duchess of Sussex was wearing a new piece of jewelry during the Trooping the Colour event in London this past week. Reports indicate that it’s an eternity ring that Prince Harry gave to Meghan right after she gave birth to the couple’s first child, Archie Harrison, back in May. While a lot of new moms get “push presents” from their partners, Prince Harry decided to give the love of his life an eternity ring.

While no one knows the exact details of the ring, Kathryn Money, a VP at ethically sourced fine jewelry Brilliant Earth, thinks that it’s a white gold or platinum eternity band set with pave diamonds. She told Fox News in an interview that eternity bands are the latest trend and that many partners are giving them to their spouses and girlfriends as a way of telling them that they will always be there for them, for better or for worse.

Today The Duke and Duchess of Sussex joined The Queen and members of The Royal Family at the annual Trooping the Colour, to celebrate Her Majesty’s official birthday. Trooping the Colour orginated from traditional preparations for battle and has commemorated the birthday of the sovereign for more than 250 years. In the 18th century, guards from the royal palaces regularly assembled to “troop" colours or flags down the rank, so they could be seen and recognised by the soldiers. In 1748, it was announced this parade would also mark the Sovereign’s official birthday. Trooping the Colour is performed by regiments of the British and Commonwealth armies for The Queen’s birthday parade, allowing them to pay a personal tribute to Her Majesty. Today over 1400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians came together on Horse Guards Parade in London in a great display of military precision, horsemanship and fanfare. The parade concludes with a 41-gun salute fired by The King’s Troop, following which The Queen leads members of The Royal Family back to the balcony of Buckingham Palace to watch the Royal Air Force flypast display. Eternity Rings Represent A Milestone! Could It Be Baby Archie?

Money explained, “Eternity diamond rings frequently represent a milestone such as an anniversary or the birth of a child. Brides have increasingly been seen stacking multiple wedding bands on their ring finger, including delicate minimalist bands or nested rings that embrace the center gemstone, creating a unique statement.”

Apparently Meghan Markle isn’t the only royal who has received an eternity band. Reports also say that Prince William gave one to Kate Middleton right after she gave birth to their first child Prince George back in 2013. Apparently both Kate and Meghan are no fans of the so-called push presents. So far neither Prince Harry nor Meghan Markle have made any comments about their eternity band, but we have a feeling that we might see them pop up more often in the coming months. After all, if it’s good enough for Meghan, it’s good enough for the rest of us, right?
