As a matter of fact, there’s a new report that suggests the Duchess of Cambridge won’t be taking extended vacations anytime soon, as she is apparently being pressured to help modernize the monarchy, now that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer around. Royal expert Camilla Tominey recently suggested in a new interview that Kate Middleton has a lot of work ahead of her. Now that both she and Prince William have the spotlight to themselves, there’s going to be a lot of pressure for them to not only put in the extra work, but to also make sure that the monarchy is going in the right direction.

“This is a picture of the monarchy moving forward, but the pressure is really on the Duchess of Cambridge to make the royals move into the future,” Tominey explained, according to Britain’s The Daily Mail. “Yes, Prince William is a star, but it’s been all about Kate lately and she’s considerably raised her game.”

And while Prince William is apparently the ‘star’ of the royal family, a lot of people have noticed that the Duchess of Cambridge has slowly but surely stepped out of his shadow. In fact, Kate will be taking on a much bigger role now that she doesn’t have Harry and Meghan to rely on anymore.

Before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided to step down from their roles as senior members of the royal family, the British media initially dubbed them all as the ‘fab four’ with the hopes that they would work together on future projects. That’s one of the reasons why Kate is now promoting her ‘5 Big Questions’ survey, in the hopes that she can spark a national conversation about early childhood education.

“She’s now carved her own path focusing on early years learning,” Tominey continued. “She wants to commit her working life to childhood and how it affects adult life. She’s been doing it in secret for eight years. This is her emerging from Prince William’s shadow to carve her own path as a future Princess of Wales.”
