King Charles Wants To Work Closer With Princess Anne Than Prince William

Clearly, he knows just how important she is to the monarchy, the royal family, and of course, his reign. There’s a new report that suggests King Charles wants to work closer with his sister Princess Anne than his own son, Prince William.

That’s because he is well aware of how popular his sister is with the public. That, and she’s also maintained a level of professionalism that other royals have not. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

According to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, he believes that it’s no accident that Princess Anne was placed right next to King Charles in his official coronation portrait.

Prince William, meanwhile, can be seen standing right next to Queen Camilla. Both Prince Andrew and Prince Harry are not in the photos.

Fitzwilliams believes that the portrait is testament to how King Charles feels about Princess Anne and how much he values her.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, he said, “Princess Anne’s proximity to the sovereign, that’s no accident. She’s experienced and hard-working. Anne’s been at it a long long time, she knows the ropes.

The King knows how popular she is, so it’s no accident his sister is next door to him. It shows much how much he appreciates her and how much he will be relying on her, she is extremely popular and has a high profile. People know who she is and respect her, that’s very important.”

Royal Family News – What’s Next For Princess Anne?

This all comes after Princess Anne told the CBC in an interview that she disagreed with King Charles about having a “slimmed down monarchy.”

Instead of having less senior members of the royal family at important engagements, she believes there should be more.

Princess Anne put it this way, “Well, I think the ‘slimmed-down’ [monarchy] was said in a day when there were a few more people around to make that seem like a justifiable comment.

It changes a bit. I mean, it doesn’t sound like a good idea from where I’m standing, I have to say. I’m not quite sure what else, you know, we can do.”
