Meghan Markle Spotted In Secret Trip To New York, Friends Prepare Baby Shower

Moving to a new city and starting your own family often means leaving your old life and spending less time with your friends. What more for Meghan Markle who has become a royal with protocols to follow? Still, it’s nice that she can spend some catch up time with her best friends in a secret trip to New York. Reports say that her friends even prepared a baby shower for her.

The Duchess of Sussex was seen in New York City on Monday, wearing a black coat and a hat, with her hair down to cover her face. Her large diamond engagement ring and wedding ring, however, are clearly visible.

According to People, the visit to the Big Apple comes before Meghan and Prince Harry’s scheduled three-day trip to Morocco for girls’ education and youth empowerment causes. She is believed to have arrived to the city on Friday after spending a quiet Valentine’s night with her husband.

Reports say that her friends, particularly Jessica Mulroney, organized a baby shower for her scheduled this Tuesday, with only 15 guests. She and Jessica also reportedly went to Laduree in SoHo last Saturday for some macarons and tea. Among the possible guests on her baby shower, in addition to Mulroney, Abigail Spencer, Priyanka Chopra, Serena Williams, Sarah Rafferty, Misha Nonoo, Benita Litt, and Lindsay Roth.

“The trip is a lovely chance to catch up with friends and spend time in a city she loves. This will be the last time a lot of them will see Meg until after the baby is born so it’s nice to share precious moments,” a source told Harper’s Bazaar.

“It’s been a relaxing visit. Nothing beats face time with your friends. Meg will be flying home refreshed and relaxed—and with a lot of new baby clothes,” said another source.
