Meghan McCain Calls The Duchess Of Sussex A Chicken For Skipping The Coronation

It looks like almost everyone on the internet has something to say about Meghan Markle and her decision not to attend King Charles’ coronation.

In fact, Meghan McCain, who has found herself making a few controversial headlines here and there, called the Duchess of Sussex a chicken for backing out from making the trip to London. Her husband Prince Harry will be attending the coronation on his own. Here’s what she has to say.

Meghan McCain took to her column for the Daily Mail to express exactly how she feels about Meghan Markle skipping such a historic day for her husband’s family.

After all, it’s not that you get to see a coronation during one’s lifetime, right? Well, McCain said, “There are arguably few people on Earth more obsessed with seeing themselves on camera than Meghan. Now, all of a sudden, she doesn’t want to be pictured in public, dressed up in one of those ridiculous tiny hats? I’m sorry. I’m not buying it.”

If that weren’t enough, McCain also said that Meghan’s excuse was nothing more than a “gallant effort at public-relations spin.” In other words, the duchess is trying to make it look like she had no other choice but to stay home.

She continued, “No one in their right mind believes Hollywood Meghan Markle is passing up a chance to peacock in front of the world to blow up balloons and serve cake in the backyard. They couldn’t celebrate in the U.K.? Pssst… a preschooler has no idea what country he’s in. I believe brave Meghan is chickening out. It seems to me that she is clearly unwilling to face the music with her in-laws and the British public.”

So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the matter. It’s thought that Prince Harry will immediately fly back to California to be with his family right after King Charles’ ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
