Prince Andrew Tries To Whitewash His Image, Returns To Royal Work?

Prince Andrew Oh my, even when they try to be slick, apparently the members of the royal family fool no one. This according to royal expert Angela Mollard and Zoe Burrell who have made known their opinion about recent pictures posted of disgraced Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson lending a hand during the coronavirus pandemic.

Prince Andrew Cannot Seem Self-Congratulating At This Point In Time

Speaking on the ROYALS podcast, Mollard brought up the topic of Prince Andrew preparing bags of items to be given to a hospice. According to Mollard, the photos were posted by Ferguson’s aide. Why the subterfuge? She went on to say that by having the assistant post, it would not appear that Prince Andrew was patting himself on the back. Right, leave that to Harry and Meghan!

Burrell added, “Speaking of royal duty, bizarrely we have seen some images of Prince Andrew working for the first time since that interview.”

There’s a reason Prince Andrew needs to appear humble if in fact, he needs to appear at all

Mollard then noted, “That’s right, that interview in November last year, we have not seen Prince Andrew at all.”

She is referring to the infamous interview in which the prince laid bare his involvement with the late, also disgraced, Jeffrey Epstein. The prince’s friendship with the convicted sex offender had 86’d his public persona as a royal until now apparently.

Did Andrew And Sarah Send Out A Test Balloon With The Photos Of Them Doing Charity Work?

Andrew’s interview with BBC Newsnight in November 2019 went over like a lead balloon. The effort to salvage his reputation was a disaster by most accounts, and his disappearance from public life confirmed the error of his judgment to speak for himself.

It’s within this backdrop that the two commentators analyzed the decision to post the photos of Andrew and Sarah.

According to Mollard, “Very tentatively Fergie did not put up these pictures herself but her personal assistant did. It was pictures of her and Prince Andrew packing these pink bags with cupcakes, sandwiches, and toiletries for hospice workers and then delivering them.”

“If Sarah had posted those images herself, she would have been seen to be grandstanding. Andrew, of course, couldn’t post them.”

The royal expert concluded that the whole stunt was a “careful ploy so that there was no sense of self-congratulations. It was clear that Fergie wanted it to be seen and Andrew probably did as well that they were involved in the coronavirus effort.”

Why would the prince seek redemption now? If not for himself, then perhaps for his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie who may have become the collateral damage of his actions as it has been reported that Prince Charles has allegedly blocked them from having roles in which they would represent Queen Elizabeth.
