Royal Family news reveals that, according to the Daily Record, a royal expert is suggesting that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex could try and steal the proverbial show and upstate the King’s coronation with news of their own if they do finally agree to return to the UK this May.

Royal Family News – Will Archie Mountbatten’s Birthday Upstage Coronation?

The much-anticipated event is set to go down on May 6 and it coincides with Harry and Meghan’s son Archie’s birthday. Perhaps they’ll throw a party for him at Frogmore Cottage.

This would surely be disruptive to the King’s coronation proceedings. The suggestion is that if Archie’s birthday party is photographed, it might “upstage” the King’s big day. That’s what royal columnist Lee Cohen said when speaking to the Express about the predicament.

“It’s terribly petty, but the Sussexes, who no longer have their royal platform, seem to relish any opportunity to attempt to upstage a royal occasion,” he said (via The Mirror). “It’s not as if the Royal Family seek occasions to upstage the antics of the Sussexes, quite the opposite.”

Royal watchers will recall that last year during the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last summer, the Sussexes celebrated baby Lilibet’s birthday and went on to release a portrait of her. Royal correspondent Natalie Oliveri stated that the Sussexes mustn’t “pull any stunts.” “They’re also being encouraged to not pull any stunts during the coronation and really stick to the plan,” she said. “I think their appearance at the Coronation will be very similar to that of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee last year.

“We might see them at one or two events but largely they will be kept in the shadows because they don’t want to take away from the historical event. It’s also Archie’s birthday too so they might host a little party at Frogmore Cottage like they did with Lilibet.”

Archie And Lilibet’s Titles Could Be In Jeopardy

These developments come as another royal expert reportedly claimed that the King would “insist” that the duke and duchess be “respectful” of the Royal Family if they hope to retain titles for their children. Prince William, as the heir apparent, automatically received the title Prince of Wales with his children receiving the suffix “of Wales” as well. However, Archie and Lilibet’s titles have not changed.

The two Sussex children are technically now prince and princess as their grandfather has become King but whether they will use the titles is yet to be confirmed by either the Sussexes or Buckingham Palace.
