Either Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not paying attention to what their critics are saying or they are just trying to get from one destination to the other as quickly and as swiftly as possible.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have once again been criticized for taking a private jet to the South of France. This comes after reports indicated that Harry and Meghan, along with their three-month-old son Archie Harrison, flew to Ibiza to celebrate Meghan’s 38th birthday earlier in the month.
A lot of critics are pointing out that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex like to think of themselves as celebrity “eco-warriors” who like to educate the public about doing what’s best for the environment even though they’ve got quite the carbon footprint themselves.
Google Camp In Sicily Slammed When A-Listers Arrived On Private Jumbo Jets
As a matter of fact, Prince Harry himself was on hand for a special Google Camp in Sicily where he gave a speech about the environment and climate change. The camp was slammed by critics who called it hypocritical seeing how many A-list celebrities took either their jumbo jets or mega yachts to get there.
And now Harry and Meghan are once again being given the side eye for taking a private plane on such a short trip from London to the South of France. The couple reportedly spent their long weekend at Elton John’s residence.
While some fans are defending the Duke and Duchess by saying royals of their caliber take private jets for their protection, it’s also been noted that many other royals have taken commercial planes in the past.
Royals Have Flown On Low-Cost Carriers In The Past, Including EasyJet
As a matter of fact, before Meghan Markle came along, Prince Harry was spotted taking an EasyJet on a two-hour flight from London to Scotland back in 2011. His brother Prince William and Kate Middleton have also flown low-cost carriers in the past, too.
So far Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made no comments about the controversy or why they took a private plane in the first place. The couple have also not documented anything about the trip on social media, either.
