Prince Harry Becomes ‘The Architect Of His Own Downfall’?

A royal commentator argues the Duke of Sussex's courtroom defeat and public response have left him increasingly isolated from the Royal Family.

Prince Harry is the subject of a royal expert known as Neil Sean once again. Critics argue that he’s a conservative royalist and therefore biased.

But it’s worth noting that he dropped the news that the court case against Associated Newspapers would go the wrong way.

Plus, he called it that Meghan Markle and the kids wouldn’t visit the UK this month. Then, he also called it that Harry wouldn’t stay in a residence provided by King Charles.

Read on to see what he’s saying about the Duke of Sussex this week.

The Courtroom Backlash

Sean shared on his YouTube channel, Daily News Headlines, that Prince Harry is now the “architect of his own downfall” after losing a major legal battle against Associated Newspapers.

The Duke quickly branded the ruling a “whitewash.” Sean argued that the response was a bad look, noting that the decision had come after arguments before King’s Counsel and was handed down by the respected Justice Nicklin.

According to Sean, it left many observers wondering who was advising the Duke.

Historians still debate how much a royal should publicly fight the courts, but Sean thinks the Duke went too far.

The commentator noted that Prince Harry actually spelled out his own troubles in his memoir, Spare. People tried to stop the book.

Yet the Duke insisted he had volumes of extra information. Sean argued that many of the claims could not be backed up with documentary evidence, saying there were “no notes” or recordings.

Sean argued that public patience is wearing thin and that the monarchy faces a difficult challenge.

A Split in the Palace

King Charles and Prince William face a huge dilemma behind palace walls. Sean reported that Prince William wants to push ahead to save the institution.

The late Queen Elizabeth would have done the same. But times are different now. Gen Z looks at things through a new lens.

The expert compared the Duke to Princess Catherine’s brother, James Middleton. James spoke out about his mental health too. But he did it in a positive way. He focused on how his dogs, marriage, and children helped him get through it.

Sean argued that Prince Harry relies on what he described as a “victimhood” approach.

He noted that the Duke even filmed an on-air therapy session. He told the rest of the family to get therapy too. That did not help their polling numbers.

The Succession Problem

There is a growing call to strip Prince Harry of his title, the Duke of Sussex. He would still be a prince by birth. Taking the title might backfire. His wife would just become Princess Henry. Sean joked that she might actually enjoy that name.

The UK government isn’t very supportive of the royals right now. They moved fast against the Duke of York recently. They could do the same here.

But removing the Prince from the line of succession is risky. Sean suggested younger people might see it as the Royal Family targeting someone who is already struggling.

Right now, the Prince looks unsteady, per Neil Sean. He lost his home in the UK. He lost his security bid. His wife hasn’t shown public support either.

Sean concluded that the Duke is now lashing out at the very family that could have saved him.
