Prince Harry Denies Being A Victim, Says That He Never Wanted Sympathy From The Public

Prince Harry knows that he’s lived a very privileged life and that’s one of the reasons why he says that he’s not a victim, despite everything that has happened between him and the royal family.

That, and the Duke of Sussex says that while he’s certainly told his personal story to the world, he never looked to gain any sympathy because of it. That, and he doesn’t feel sorry for himself, either. Here’s what he has to say.

Prince Harry – Denies Being A Victim, Says That He Never Wanted Sympathy From The Public

While chatting with Dr. Gaboe Mate to discuss his memoir, Spare, Harry clarified a few of the public’s misconceptions about him.

He said that he wrote his book because it felt like performing a public service to him. In other words, he wants to help people deal with the same kind of traumatic experiences he dealt with.

Harry put it this way, “I’m really grateful to be able to share my story in the hopes that it will help, empower, encourage others and, hopefully, let people understand — again back to the human experience — [that] we are in some shape and form all connected, especially through trauma.”

“I know how important it is to share these stories; how you can save a life and improve lives because you’re almost giving people permission to talk about their own stuff and be themselves,” he added.

What’s Next For Harry And Meghan?

If that weren’t enough, Harry also says that he’s gotten a lot of perspective ever since he and Meghan Markle pulled the plug on their working relationship with the royal family. He’s also thankful to have gotten his family out of the UK.

He said, “To see my kids growing up here, the way that they are, I just can’t imagine how that would have been possible back in that environment. The way that I understand it is you can try your best everyday to not hang on any traumas that you have as a parent, but if you’re still stuck within the same environment, it kind of feels self defeating.”
