Royal Family Fights Back Against Media Biases & ‘Double Standards’?

Royal expert claims Prince William is increasingly running the monarchy as the royal family moves away from traditional media and toward direct digital communication.

The balance of power inside the royal family appears to be changing. If there was any doubt before, a royal commentator suggests the new dynamic is becoming clearer by the day.

Prince William Runs The Firm

Speaking on his daily vlog on YouTube on Sunday, Neil Sean made the case that the Prince of Wales is increasingly the one taking charge behind the palace gates. And he’s clearly suggested that in the past.

“William is actually running the monarchy,” Sean asserted, pointing to the way the Prince and Princess of Wales have started bypassing traditional media outlets.

According to Sean, the strategy of producing their own digital content might be a calculated move. He described the approach as “very clever.”

Next, he opined that it allows them direct control: tell “their own narrative.” It seems preferable to relying on mainstream media to shape their public image.

Why the Royals Have Had Enough

Sean argues that the royal family’s frustration with traditional media is entirely justified. He pointed to a series of perceived snubs by major broadcasters, particularly the BBC, as the catalyst for the digital media change.

Earlier this year, the UK’s national broadcaster reportedly claimed it couldn’t afford to cover the Commonwealth service at Westminster Abbey.

Sean contrasted that decision with the thousands of staff and massive budgets sent to cover entertainment events like Glastonbury and Radio One weekends.

“You can understand this is not representative of what people want over here in the United Kingdom,” Sean remarked, calling out what he sees as misplaced priorities.

The Royal Observer backed up the claim.

Per Neil, The broadcaster also allegedly turned down coverage of the recent King’s Speech during the recall of Parliament, citing short notice, which forced the palace to use a third-party crew.

Yet, Sean noted, traditional media outlets remain eager to cover non-critical, sit-down interviews with Prince Harry.

Taking Back Control

Sean argued that perceived bias and a constant media focus on anti-monarchy protests have prompted the royals to take greater control of their own messaging.

Princess Catherine released beautifully shot nature films, while Prince William recently collaborated with Apple TV and Eugene Levy.

King Charles allegedly follows the lead of Prince William. Per Neil Sean, the palace hired an in-house videographer. The starting wage isn’t exactly stellar. Allegedly, they earn around £52,000 a year.

Nevertheless, the stakes couldn’t be higher. Sean warned that the content “will be viewed and critiqued on the world stage.”

The decision to bypass the traditional “Royal Rota” stems from years of building frustration. Who else thinks that’s a wake-up call a decade too late?

Sean traced the turning point back to intense media coverage, such as when a Sky News reporter challenged William on camera over whether the royal family was racist.

A Clever Media Move

By using their own social media channels and websites, William and Catherine have apparently successfully circumvented the traditional news cycle.

Sean dismissed tabloid headlines suggesting the palace is trying to create radical or “funky” content. Instead, he argues the goal is much simpler.

“They simply want their… charitable events [and] visits portrayed in the light that puts them in the best possible look,” Sean concluded.

As the palace increasingly moves toward its own official channels, Sean believes it could represent a blow to traditional news outlets.

For the mainstream media, Sean suggested, this digital evolution might just be another nail in the coffin. And they may only have themselves to blame.

Viewers React

Although the vlog arrived quite late at night, plenty of royal family fans chimed in with their take on it. In the comments section, Neil’s followers zeroed in on what they see as blatant media double standard regarding Prince Harry.

In the video, Sean pointed out that while MSM claim they lack the budget or time to cover official duties for the working royals, they are “quite happy to sit down with [Prince Harry].” His stories seem to get global reach.

One follower shared their opinion by writing, “Bravo! The BBC doesn’t have the ‘”money” or the interest in the RF. William’s interviews have been brilliant, as have Catherine’s. Taking control was the BEST move.”

Another one alleged, “Harry and Meghan are terrified of William, he lives rent free in their heads 24 hours a day. William is smart be like William.”
