Royal Family News: 5 Reasons Prince William And Kate Middleton’s Train Tour Of The UK Ended In Disaster

Prince William And Kate MiddletonRoyal Family news reveals Prince William and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge have just concluded a two-day tour around the United Kingdom and let’s just say, not everyone is happy about it. While the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge wanted to thank all of the health care workers, responders and those who have been on the front line during this entire pandemic they’ve gotten a lot of criticism for doing what a lot of people don’t want you to do right now and that’s travel.

If that weren’t enough, William and Kate have also been seen without a mask on many different occasions during their tour, too. With that said, here are five reasons why Prince William and Kate Middleton should have given this train tour a second thought before they choo-chooed they way through the UK. Check it out below and let us know what you think.

#1 Tax Payers Say That It Was Too Expensive

While taking the train is always cheaper than taking a plane, it still cost tax payers a pretty pound. That’s because Prince William and Kate Middleton traveled with all of their handlers, stayed at hotels and of course, had to budget in their wardrobe, hair and makeup. It sure costs a lot of money to look this good when you are waving at someone.

#2 They Could Have Just Zoomed It In Like Everyone Else

Was it really necessary to spend so much money on a train tour when they could have easily ‘thanked’ all the frontline workers via Zoom? While the gesture was certainly nice, a lot of people say that it was completely unnecessary given that Great Britain is still seeing quite the spike in daily cases.

#3 This Might Have Prompted Other Citizens To Break Quarantine Rules, Too

According to reports, many people in Wales tried to use the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s visit as an excuse to leave the house even though the country everyone should be following their quarantine rules to help curb the spread of the coronavirus. This has prompted many leaders in Wales to say what everyone has been thinking to themselves, and that’s William and Kate are certainly not setting a good example here.

#4 Inter-Country Travel Is Prohibited Right Now Unless It’s For Work

Many have given William and Kate a side-eye for their tour because as of press time, inter-country travel is prohibited in the United Kingdom right now unless it’s for work. While Buckingham Palace insists that the Duke and Duchess are actually ‘working’ on this trip, some people believe that the royal definition of what ‘work’ is differs from what everyone else believes it to be.

#5 Some Critics Say This Tour Just Proves How ‘Useless’ The Royals Are Now

While everyone certainly has an opinion and especially when it comes to the British Royal Family, some people are pointing out that this tour has just proven how “useless” the royals are right now. While we won’t agree or disagree with such a statement, some critics say that simply going around and thanking those on the front line for their work during the pandemic isn’t making any significant impact for anyone involved. Of course, the Duke and Duchess could always actually volunteer their services, but that would actually consist of some real work, right?

This smacks of a PR puff piece from the Sussex corner. Jealous much? Despite the former now Hollywood royals protests William and Kate have been steadfast and loyal to Britain and the UK. The purpose of the train ride was to show support and encourage the Commonwealth during crisis, as the Monarchy has done for hundreds of years. What William and Kate do or don’t do has zero to do with the Hollywood royals. They chose to walk away.
