Royal Family News: Did King Charles Deliberately Snub Sarah Ferguson For His Coronation?

British royal family news divulges that an invite to King Charles’ May 6 coronation at London’s Westminster Abbey is the get of the year. Foreign dignitaries galore will stuff the seats to watch the king be crowned.

And yet the ones who will not be there, and their reasons, are getting much more media than the big event: Meghan Markle, Joe Biden, and Sarah Ferguson.

Sarah has been diplomatic about her snub, saying she understands it’s for family and she will be at some private event at another time. Joe Biden is sending Dr. Mrs. Joe Biden, and Meghan is chirping.

The event will be a bank holiday and there will be 2,000 guests. Sarah Ferguson the Duchess of York seems cool with the idea that she was not invited because her marriage to Prince Andrew is over. FYI they still live together so something is not over between them. Just saying.

She’s been promoting her latest book and told Good Morning Britain that it would be inappropriate for her to attend a state occasion.

She said, “Being divorced, I don’t think you can have it both ways. You mustn’t sit on the fence – you’re either in or out. But don’t muck around.”

Now Grant Harrold, a former royal butler, is speaking out on the decision to exclude Sarah from the proceedings. He thinks that King Charles would not have made the decision lightly.

He told Spingenie “It’s interesting that Sarah Ferguson isn’t invited as she is a close member and friend of the Royal family, including the King, and I understand she still continues to live under one roof with her husband who she is divorced from.”

Grant added “In recent years, Sarah and Andrew have become very close again and continue to spend time together and I think that’s also for the benefit of their daughters too. Sarah has been seen at different occasions with the Royal family, but notably any big public events I’ve never seen her at.”

For example, she was absent from King Charles and Camilla’s wedding. And that was before Andrew became a walking sex abuse payout scandal.

He added, “It could be because she is no longer an official member of the Royal family, maybe they are only inviting senior members of the Royal family or married members of the Royal family – there’s one of those old rules that people had to be married to attend events.”
