Royal Family News: Did Rebel Wilson Just Shade Meghan Markle?

It looks like Rebel Wilson won’t be getting any invites to the Sussex mansion in Montecito anytime soon. That’s because it seems like the Hollywood star has just thrown some shade at Meghan Markle by suggesting that she’s not a “naturally warm” person.

At least, that’s the impression that Rebel got when she first met the Duchess of Sussex. Here’s what you need to know.

While on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Rebel dished a little dirt about the royal and said that she really didn’t get a warm reception from Meghan when she first met her. She said, “Meghan was not as cool. She wasn’t as naturally warm.”

But then again, Rebel said that one of the reasons why Meghan might have appeared a little standoffish is because Rebel’s mother, Sue Bownds, kept on asking her personal questions like where her two children, Archie and Lilibet, were at the time. In fact, Rebel even admits that her mom was acting a little rude to Meghan.

She said, “And I’m like, ‘Mom, don’t ask her that,’” while also adding, “Maybe that’s why she was like, ‘Who are these annoying convicts from Australia?’”

But with that said, Rebel did add that Prince Harry was incredibly nice and that she actually did get to meet him and Meghan through mutual friends.

Meghan hasn’t made any comments about her encounter with Rebel but at this point it’s doubtful that she will say anything at all. Both she and Harry have been keeping a rather low profile, despite the fact that they are only a stone’s throw away from Hollywood.

One report even suggested that Harry and Meghan want to stay under the radar as much as possible seeing how they’ve gotten so much attention for their Netflix series, Harry and Meghan, and Harry’s book, Spare. A little media detox should do the trick, right?
