While the Duchess of Sussex isn’t the kind of person who likes to throw big birthdays for herself, sources close to the situation say that she and her husband Harry will make it a low-key affair.

The Duke of Sussex is expected to leave for Africa soon after Meghan’s birthday celebrations are over. That’s because he is getting ready to film a documentary in Africa for Netflix, which also means that he won’t be expected back home for several long weeks.

One source close to the situation put it this way, “Although it’s not a big birthday, I imagine she is looking forward to celebrations and being treated by Prince Harry. They will possibly be quite toned down this year and likely to be a private affair.”

The insider added, “Meghan may also choose to celebrate her special day with a small, intimate gathering. This could be with friends at their home or at a restaurant.”

Royal Family News: Is Meghan Markle Celebrating Her Birthday With Gwyneth Paltrow?

Now, as far as who those friends might be, is anyone’s guess. But sources do say that Meghan is still very close with the likes of Oprah and Gayle King and has even added Gwyneth Paltrow to her list of Hollywood BFF’s.

Not only that, but she’s also still very close with Cameron Diaz, Serena Williams, Mariah Carey and even Ellen DeGeneres.

So far Meghan herself has not made any comments about her birthday plans. But with that said, there’s a very good chance that she’ll enjoy it with those who matter the most in her life.
