There’s a new report that suggests Sarah Ferguson might have gotten an invite to the Oscars because she has very close ties with the Presley family. And as many fans know, the biopic Elvis is up for several major awards this year.

One source close to the situation said, “There have been discussions about The Duchess attending and it now looks as though that will happen — the plan is for her to present an award. She has been a very close friend of the Presley family, especially Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie, and she even spoke at her funeral recently. That sparked some conversations about the possibility of her attending – and after some back and forth it looks like it’s happening.”

What’s more, it seems like the Duchess of York is looking to spend more time in America and her appearance at the Oscars couldn’t come at a better time for her.

Just like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Fergie wants to spend more time States side with the hopes that she can leave all of her drama, which includes Prince Andrew’s sex scandal, behind in the UK. Even though the ex-couple pulled the plug on their marriage back in 1996, they still live together at the Royal Lodge, which Andrew is about to get evicted from.
