British Royal News suggests that Meghan Markle really didn’t have a chance in you-know-what from the very beginning. There’s a new report that suggests King Charles never really wanted his daughter-in-law to be a full-time working royal and even after she married his son, Prince Harry. Here’s what you need to know.
Royal Family News – King Charles Reportedly Never Wanted Meghan Markle To Be A Full-Time Working Royal
According to a new report, King Charles made it pretty clear that he didn’t want Meghan Markle to do any public appearances or royal engagements as a member of the royal family and was hoping that she would carry on working as a Hollywood actress and even after she married Harry. At least, that’s what the Duke of Sussex writes in his book, Spare.
Recalling a conversation that he had with his father back in 2016, Harry says that Charles asked him, “Does she want to carry on working?” to which Prince Harry replied, “Say again?” Charles then said, “Does she want to keep on acting?”

Harry then responded with, “Oh. I mean, I don’t know. I wouldn’t think so. I expect she’ll want to be with me, doing the job, you know, which would rule out Suits… since they film in… Toronto.”
That’s when the future King of England then said, “Hmm. I see. Well, darling boy, you know there’s not enough money to go around. I can’t pay for anyone else. I’m already having to pay for your brother and Catherine.'”
Clearly, King Charles didn’t want to have to bear the burden of having to financially support yet another member of the royal family when he was doing his best to slim down the monarchy. Meghan ended up becoming a full-time royal just for her and Harry to pull the plug on their relationship with the royal family back in 2020. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter.
