British royal family news reveals that one day Prince Charles will succeed his mother Queen Elizabeth as the UK’s monarch. For now her rule is firmly in place and at 95-years young she appears to be in fine health and fully enjoying her reign. She is Britain’s longest serving monarch and no one thinks she will simply hand over the scepter to her son.
Yet some are already speculating about Prince Charles being in charge and what changes he might implement. He has made no secret of wanting to thin the herd so to speak, what some calling slimming down the monarchy.
Royal Family News – Prince Charles Has A Diet In Mind For The Monarchy
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe thinks that Prince Charles is already making his mark behind the scenes. According to Duncan, “Although the Queen remains very much in charge, behind the scenes there are increasing signs it’s Her Majesty’s son who is calling more of the shots.”
“We know Charles has a desire to ‘scale back’ the number of royals in senior positions and on the payroll of the British taxpayer once he becomes King.”
He points to a recent non-development as a sign that Charles is holding sway.

Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, was assumed to inherit his father, Prince Philip’s Duke of Edinburgh title when he passed away in April.
But months later he is still waiting for the moniker. According to Duncan, Charles has no intention of handing over the royal title and this has caused a “royal rift” between the brothers. He claims this is a major “clue” of what is to come.
He said, “However, palace sources tell me that Prince Edward has not yet inherited his father’s title – perhaps proof that the scaling-back process has already begun.”

Royal Family News – Will Prince Charles Keep His Brother From A Prime Title?
Prince Philip reportedly wanted Edward to inherit his title but palace insiders claim Charles has put the kibosh on that wish.
“Some suggest the handing on of the title has been blocked by Charles – who, as future King, could leave the Edinburgh title vacant.”
Royal writer Angela Levin also thinks that Charles is ready to shake things up. “Prince Charles has wanted for a very long time to cut the monarchy down to save costs and to make people be worth the money that they got from the taxpayer,” she told talkRADIO
