Royal Family News: Prince Harry Memoir Totally “Eclipsed” By Michelle Obama’s Book, Bad Blood Brewing?

British royal family news reveals that IF Prince Harry’s bombshell tell-all memoir comes out on time, it could go up against Michelle Obama’s book. Both are published by Penguin Random House and the publisher seems to be in a bind. Who is bigger—Michelle or Harry? Rhetorical question.

Will the publisher go against their “star author” and risk offending one or both writers?

According to the Daily Mail, “The former US First Lady announced last week she is bringing out a follow-up to her autobiography Becoming, one of the best-selling books of all time. It would be coming out at around the same time that Harry’s as-yet untitled work is set to hit the shelves.”

Royal Family News: Will Harry Compete With Michelle?

Rumor has it that Harry’s book is not ready yet, despite Harry and his giftwriter, erm, ghostwriter, having plenty of time to sift through Prince Harry’s addled memory. Remember it was Katie Couric who once recalled trying hard to interview the boozy ashtray—her words.

Which would explain why, “Industry insiders have speculated whether the clash explains why the publisher of both books, has yet to announce when the royal’s ghost-written, yet supposedly ‘intimate and heartfelt’, account will go on sale.” Don’t forget Harry also claims it will be, “wholly accurate,” thus casting doubt on all of his prior utterances.

Royal Family News: Harry Promises To Tell The Truth

Obama’s book is titled, The Light We Carry, and comes out on November 15. That’s just in time for gifting for Thanksgiving and Christmas. And that is why some are suggesting Harry’s book could debut at a different date so as to not compete with what is sure to be a best seller.

According to the outlet, an insider claims this would ensure, “the prince’s memoir would have a ‘clear shot’ at topping the New York Times Bestseller List … before getting ‘totally eclipsed’ by his stablemate.”

The source spilled, “I would certainly account for a lot of the uncertainty. Michelle Obama is a phenomenon and her new book is expected to top every bestseller list in the world. She would totally eclipse anything by Harry. It could potentially be quite difficult timing.”

When Penguin Random House announced last summer that Harry’s life history would be in print, they claimed it would be on shelves sometime, “in late 2022,” giving plenty of wiggle room.

Ghostwriter JR Moehringer is said to have finished the book which reportedly passed all, “legal processes.” In contrast, “last week there was huge global excitement at Mrs. Obama’s announcement of a new book, which Penguin said would be published in 14 languages with an initial US print run of 2.75 million copies. Becoming has sold more than 17 million worldwide.” Can Harry top that? Tell us royal fans, are you going to be buying Harry’s tell-all, and if so, what for?
