There are new reports that say Prince Philip is expected to remain in the hospital for another week, prompting a lot of fans to wonder what is really going on behind closed doors. The 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh is expected to remain at a London hospital for this weekend for more observation. Here’s what you need to know.
Prince Philip Expected To Stay In The Hospital For Another Week
According to reports, Queen Elizabeth’s husband was taken to the King Edward VII Hospital last week on the advice of his doctor after he was feeling unwell. Buckingham Palace says that while it is not Covid-19 related, the Duke of Edinburgh is expected to remain under his doctor’s care for at least one more week.
Following consultation with his doctor, the Duke of Edinburgh is likely to remain in hospital for observation and rest over the weekend and into next week,” one source close to the situation told People Magazine. “The doctor is acting with an abundance of caution. The Duke remains in good spirits.”
Both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccination in early January. Prince Philip has mostly stayed out of the public eye ever since he retired from his royal duties back in 2017. While Queen Elizabeth has still been keeping busy with her royal engagements and public appearances, source say that Prince Philip has been keeping to himself, and living in his own “bubble” at his personal quarters near Windsor Castle.
