British royal family news teases that Prince William and Princes Kate are so ingrained in world consciousness that it’s hard to remember a time when they were singletons.
They met at the University of St. Andrews and went on to date off and on before marrying 11 years ago. They now have three adorable children and will be king and queen one day.
Their story reads like a true fairytale, but one royal expert is revealing the shady way William allegedly treated Kate before they were married!
Royal News: William and Kate’s Fairytale
Royal biographer Andrew Morton wrote the book William and Catherine. He claims that William once treated Kate “like a servant.”
The Express claims that even-mannered Kate Middleton was sometimes troubled by how William treated her.
A college friend of the couple, Michael Choong, told Morton that William “could be flip and curt with” Kate. Maybe it was just college stressing him out because that doesn’t really sound like the future king?
Choong stated of William that he expected Kate “to run after him, and the longer they knew each other, the more he seemed to keep her on a tight leash.”

Morton described William as “obstinate and strong-willed” and he could be an “overwhelming presence.” Such behavior allegedly led Kate to think that William was taking her for granted and treating her “like a servant rather than his girlfriend.”
Morton claims that another source told him that the couple’s relationship was “edgy,” and they were off and on all the time with “rows and break-ups.”
In the end it may have just been a relationship like every other one, in which the young couple “tried to find their way” wrote Morton.

Katie Nicholl wrote William and Harry: Behind the Palace Walls, and she echoes these themes, writing that in 2004 the couple agreed to a “trial separation.”
That lasted for a few months. Nicholl claims that William was crushing on British socialite Isabella Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe: “William was madly in love with her, but when he knew there was no chance of them getting together he went back to Kate.”
We’ll have to take the author’s word for this dish, but all in all we are happy that Kate and William worked things out–Can you imagine a world without memes of Prince Louis?
