British royal family news reveals that Prince William, Duke of Cambridge has big plans to make a splash when he inherits the throne. That could be a while since his grandmother Queen Elizabeth currently occupies the top spot and upon her passing his father Prince Charles becomes king.

Adding to the uncertainty of William’s reign, many are speculating about the relevance and longevity of the monarchy given dramatic events like Megxit.

Apparently, William is already making plans with his wife Kate to determine how the British monarchy can be altered to be more relatable and identify which protocols are outdated (stuffy and pompous?).

An insider spilled to Us Weekly magazine: “William is already thinking about the future of the Monarchy and the changes he’ll make. While he respects protocol, he plans to modernize some aspects and is making it his mission to be more relatable than previous generations.”

The couple has three children, Prince George, seven, and Prince Louis, three, and six-year-old Princess Charlotte, and reportedly have no issue with sharing glimpses into their family life as a way of relating to the public.

The insider added that William and Kate have achieved a balance between public openness, “while maintaining the sense of mystery that surrounds the royal family and keeps us engaged. William accepts that being in the spotlight is part of the job, and is fine with it. He takes his future role as King and seriously and sees it as a great honor and privilege to be in his position. The monarchy and his family will always come first.”

Former Royal Butler Paul Burrell previously shared that he thinks there will be no sea change in the monarchy until Prince William takes over.

He said, “Then Princess Diana’s genes inside Prince William will kick in and make the royal family more approachable, acceptable, and out there. I think Prince Charles will follow the traditional route, his mother’s route, his grandmother’s route.”
