British royal family news reveals that ahead of her 2022 Platinum Jubilee, Queen Elizabeth must confront the fact that two of her sons are feeling the heat and this could radiate out onto her.
Both Prince Andrew and Prince Charles are in the spotlight, accused of unsavory behavior. Let’s unpack what they are facing and how this could affect Her Majesty.
According to a UK media outlet, a Scottish regulator is investigating a “cash for access” allegation against Charles. Here’s what you need to know.
Royal Family News – Prince Charles Stands Accused
The chairman of Prince Charles’ charitable foundation resigned after The Sunday Times reported that Charles, “wrote a thank you letter to Russian banker Dmitry Leus and offered to meet him in person after receiving a six-figure donation to The Prince’s Foundation in May 2020,” according to CNN.
Leus reportedly wants British citizenship and made his donation after being promised a meeting with Charles, the Sunday Times reported. Foundation chair Douglas Connell later left his position saying he was, “shocked and dismayed by newspaper reports that rogue activity of various kinds may have taken place within and outside the Prince’s Foundation.” This situation has yet to be resolved.
Prince Andrew Stands Accused
Prince Andrew has been accused by Virginia Roberts Giuffre of sexual assault in a civil suit filed in New York. She claims assaults happened three times while she was underage and that she was trafficked by the dead convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Andrew has denied the claims. He told the BBC in 2019, “It didn’t happen. I can absolutely categorically tell you it never happened. I have no recollection of ever meeting this lady, none whatsoever.”
Interestingly, there is a widely circulated photo of the prince with his hand on Giuffre’s bare waist, something his friends say was Photoshopped.
Royal Family News – Prince Andrew Is the Subject Of A Civil Suit
Andrew’s legal team claim the suit is, “baseless, non-viable (and) potentially unlawful.” Thus far Andrew has avoided being personally served with papers. What do the experts think? Lawyer Amber Melville-Brown is the head of the media and reputation practice at law firm Withers and she believes, “it is a matter for the English court to determine the method of service when serving at the request of a foreign court.”

Once the papers are served, Melville-Brown says Andrew has several options, “None are particularly attractive.”
Prince Andrew’s BBC interview, an attempt to clear his name, went off the rails. He subsequently was made to step down from royal duties and remains a royal persona non grata. In the meantime Queen Elizabeth is no doubt keen for both of her sons to be exonerated, at least in the court of public opinion.
