Royal Family News – Queen Elizabeth Has A Stunning Jewelry Collection
Last Friday Queen Elizabeth wore a special brooch with connections to royal history. When she appeared in a virtual meeting with young leaders supported by the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust she wore one of the three Victoria Bow Brooches handed down from Queen Victoria and dating back to the late 1800s.
During the call she praised four leaders from the U.K., the Maldives, Guyana and Rwanda who have helped out members of their communities. Their good deeds include assisting children impacted by the pandemic, young people diagnosed with cancer and women experiencing domestic violence.
Her great-grandmother liked to wear all three bows styled into a cascade, but Queen Elizabeth appears to like wearing one at a time.
Royal Family News – Queen Elizabeth Recently Wore A Historical Broach
Queen Elizabeth wore one of the bows for the 1997 funeral of Princess Diana, following her death from injuries incurred in a car crash in Paris.
She also wore the piece on Sept. 9, 2015, when she passed Victoria as Britain’s longest-reigning monarch. At the time the Express wrote that this, “meant the trio of jewels will forever be associated with long-serving queens.”
September will mark 35 years since the Queen loaned the piece to Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. At that time Sarah was honored to wear the broach to the Braemar Gathering, an annual sporting competition in the Scottish Highlands.
She was still a newlywed and wore it as a collar accent.
