TikTok Compares Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, And Rest Of Royals: Who Wins?!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have become TikTok’s version of the Titanic. But while the Duke and Duchess of Sussex keep sinking in popularity, another royal has soared.

And a new report compares Harry, Meghan, Kate Middleton, and Prince William to reveal the distinctions.

What do TikTok users think of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? The Duke and Duchess of Sussex rank as the most-discussed royal family members on TikTok.

However, “the conversation tends quite negative.” And “the overall consensus is that [TikTok users] seem to favor Kate” over Meghan, according to research from Newsweek.

But those results must disappoint the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. After all, the two have spent big bucks to appeal to younger audiences.

For instance, the couple recently invested in a project on AI and technology. However, researchers found that TikTik users enjoy mocking and criticizing Meghan and Harry rather than praising them.

And the couple makes a notable contrast to Prince William and Kate Middleton. Their fans use TikTok to post clips showing praise-worthy memories of William and Kate.

And when social media intelligence platform Hootsuite conducted research about how TikTok users view Kate and Will versus Meghan and Harry, the differences became obvious.

Eileen Kwok, social marketing specialist at Hootsuite, shared, “Meghan and Harry are the most talked about couple on TikTok. But the conversation tends quite negative with most people being highly critical about their relationship.”

Meghan Markle Vs Kate Middleton: TikTok Takes Sides

However, the Hootsuite report also compared quantity versus commentary. For instance, the research noted, “#HarryAndMeghan has 5 million views under its hashtag. [But] #WilliamAndKate has only 715K views. TikTokers are also comparing the couple,” revealed the report.

And users on TikTok seem obsessed with comparing Meghan and Kate especially. As a result, communities on the social media platform tend to take sides.

And “the comment section for videos revolving around the royal family are heated with advocates and critics of their every move—from their behavior and fashion sense, to their looks and interactions.”

But when Hootsuite analyzed a 30-day period, each royal family member received nearly equal post numbers. For instance, William received 6k, as did William,

Harry and Meghan. And while Kate numbered 5k posts, she had the most views at 397k. However, Overall data showed Harry with the most posts (140k) and the most views (13 billion), followed by Meghan (115k and 11 billion).

Kate had 65k and 10 billion overall. And William numbered 79k and 11 billion overall.
