In a shocking move, the hit responder show, 9-1-1 has been canceled on Fox. However, it’ll not be the end of the road for fans as it will be migrating elsewhere for Season 7. The show will come along in the 23-24 TV season. So, what is going on?
9-1-1 – Canceled On Fox But Gets Another Home
The news gets stranger as the spinoff, Lone Star will still be hosted on Fox. However, it seems that the main show is a problem for Fox because of licensing issues with Disney-owned 20th Television. It’s just way too expensive to keep it going, despite the good ratings and popularity of the action drama. Anyway, ABC doesn’t have a problem with that, so the show migrates there. Apparently, it will reach a larger audience on ABC in the slot around 8 p.m.
If you don’t know, the 9-1-1 show examines the life of the LA first responders. Probably, the cast and format remain the same on ABC. In fact, Craig Craig Erwich said in a statement that the cast helped to make the show“one of the most defining and original dramas on network television.” Season 1, which premiered in January, 2018 did well with over six million viewers. However, the viewership started to decline by Season 6.
9-1-1 – Will Find A Good Home On ABC
According to Deadline, the show will probably easily shift across to ABC. One example given of a show that did better on ABC than it did with Fox, is American Idol. The outlet noted that the responder show is also “a top performing drama series on Disney-controlled Hulu.” There is a lot of money to be made in syndication, but Fox wasn’t able to do well off it.

Going forward, fans of 9-1-1 can probably expect more of the same ambiance of the show. Quite often it was a bit melodramatic, but it also managed to bring that edge-of-the-seat adrenaline to the audience. Those who love the show will probably be delighted that it hasn’t heard its bell toll for the last time. Actually, the action seems great, thanks to the talented cast.
9-1-1 – Will You Watch The Show On ABC?
On Twitter, people who reacted to the news didn’t seem to be unhappy about it.
Other people also hope that ABC might also move across 9-1-1 Lone Star. Meanwhile, a lot of people talked about hoping that ABC doesn’t kill off any of the characters, @Cozybuck said, “please don’t kill off any mains or i will be So Upset. and also, please make buddie canon.”
