Well, he gambled to try and clear this name. It backfired, and he was sentenced to 18 years in prison. He always tried staying positive about the potential outcome. Plus, he tried to maintain a positive attitude while he awaited his sentencing. That brought him a few more admirers. However,  without a doubt, most people love that he ended up being behind bars.

90 Day Fiance fans heard that ahead of his trial, Geoffrey started exploring his spiritual side. If people face a long time of incarceration, probably, they do reflect on their journey through life. Well, he planned to appeal, and Varya took a  lot of heat for supporting the fundraising effort of his family. Recall, during the trial, his lawyers objected because evidence not pertaining to the case was allowed by the judge. For now, he awaits a new hearing in April, when another judge will consider his legal team’s motion for a retrial.

Until now, Geoffrey was held at the Knoxville County Jail. However, he was moved on March 1 to the Bledsoe County Correctional Complex. When True Crime Jankie shared a post on Instagram by Starcasm, some fans wondered what the difference is between jail and prison. According to Paul Passmore, an ex-inmate and prison reform advocate on Quora.com, there is a big difference. While TLC fans cheer because Geoffrey is in a prison now, he claimed that county jails are much worse.

It might interest 90 Day Fiance fans to know that Paul said, “County jails suck so much, I’d rather do an extra year in prison than have to spend time in county!” According to him, at least in prison, inmates can enjoy seeing “the sun, walk on the track, play softball, lift weights,” and “sleep in a decent bed with a thicker mattress.”  He also claimed prison is preferable because inmates “have a locker, pillow, sheets, razor, access to better commissary, contact visits, better food at the chowhall, better medical, dental and especially, [better] mental health services.”

We checked out the Bledsoe Complex for 90 Day Fiance fans. It is located in the countryside near Pikeville, Tennessee. It has a medical facility where new arrivals get checked out to establish their health. They also get assessed for other needs. In order to help the prisoners adapt to life outside, they learn skills and can take advantage of adult education courses. Additionally, there’s a  farm with a dairy herd, so Geoffrey Paschel might get the chance to work with animals, which fans know he loves very much.
