Bridgerton spoilers and updates tease it was heartbreaking to fans of the period drama to find out that Regé-Jean Page, who plays the dashing Simon Cowell, Duke of Hastings, will not be making an appearance in the next season of the series. Since each of the series will focus on one of the eight siblings, just like in the books, it makes sense that Daphne’s Duke won’t be featured in its second season. But don’t worry, Phoebe Dynevor promises that his presence will still be felt.
Phoebe Dynevor On What To Expect From Bridgerton’s Season 2
The first season of Bridgerton focused on Daphne Bridgerton’s journey to finding happiness and securing a good match with the dashing Duke of Hastings, but in the upcoming season, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) will become the main focus as he attempts to settle down and finally take his place as the head of the family. We don’t know how well the movie will keep to the book, but if we’re to go with The Viscount Who Loved Me, he finds the perfect wife but becomes distracted by her meddling older sister.
While Phoebe Dynevor’s Daphne will appear in the upcoming season, she will take a backseat since she’s already gotten her happily ever after in the show’s first season. Daphne will only be there to support her siblings.
It goes without saying that no two seasons of the Shondaland-produced series will ever be alike since each one represents one of the Bridgertons, but hearing Phoebe Dynevor assure us of that is good too.
“I think he’ll definitely be referred to a lot. I think we’ll see the baby,” Dynevor teased. “And we’ll just focus more on her relationship with the Bridgerton family.”
We could possibly be seeing Regé-Jean Page make a cameo as the series progresses, but if we don’t, we can still take refuge in knowing that more bold love stories and romance is coming our way.
“I think that’s honestly the joy of the show in the long-term, getting to see these different love stories play out,” Dynevor said about what fans can expect. “And no two seasons will be the same and they’ll have a different excitement.”
Due to the massive success of the first movie, Bridgerton has been renewed for up to four seasons, with a Queen Charlotte spin-off currently in the works.

What To Expect From Season 2 Of Bridgerton
More heart-throbbing love stories and strong-willed females are not all the next season is offering us, obviously. A recent casting revealed that Edmund Bridgerton, the deceased patriarch of the Bridgerton family, will be making an appearance in the coming season. In what way? No one knows yet, but unless they go zombie or anything, I’m going to have to guess that his appearance will be based on flashbacks.
“All I know is that, you know, having written the source material, I think we’re all going to be happy because they really set it up beautifully for all of us to really want Anthony to both wins in life and get his comeuppance,” Julia Quinn told E! News. “At the same time, and I think it’s gonna happen, his love interest just really is his match and it’s going to be great.”
