GMA Brings An Exciting Twist To A Year Of Programming

Good Morning America - GMA - ABC - YouTube

Good Morning America (GMA) launches a nationwide tour on July 3 called ’50 States in 50 Weeks: America the Beautiful.’ The year-long feature is part of the lead-up to two big anniversaries — its 50th in November 2025 and the USA’s 250th in July 2026.

A Nation-Wide Tour

Parade reported that a “press release” gave more details about the popular show. Each week, an anchor or correspondent will travel to a different state, starting “with Delaware.” After that, the team will visit other states following the order in which they ratified the U.S. Constitution. The goal is to highlight local heroes and shine a light on each state’s culture, history, and landmarks.

The first stop airs from “Rehoboth Beach“, where chief meteorologist Ginger Zee spent time with the town’s lifeguards. She said:

I can’t think of a better way to kick off this journey than in Delaware, our very first state. Meeting the Rehoboth Beach lifeguards and seeing their commitment to community and safety perfectly captures the spirit of what this series is all about, especially ahead of Fourth of July weekend.

Keeping The ‘A’ In American News

Simone Swink, the senior executive producer of the show, said the production remains focused on its roots. “This series is a chance for us to explore the country and share stories that reflect the heart of each state.” She added that the show is “proudly keeping the ‘A’ in GMA,” a nod to celebrating all things American.

Making it interactive, viewers of the show have been encouraged to nominate community members who are making a difference. The final segment will air in July 2026.

Change In Offices

It’s not just a change in programming this year, but there has also been a change of office for the show. Michael Strahan revealed that he had a lot of memorabilia to move. Don’t worry, Michael Strahan didn’t leave for good! He was just moving from its Times Square studios to a new downtown location.

Reportedly, the new place is state-of-the-art, bringing even better quality to an already long-running and popular show. It first aired on November 3, 1975. While a Sunday edition launched in 1993, it was canceled in 1999. Weekend shows, on both Saturdays and Sundays, returned in September 2004.

Weekday and Saturday broadcasts run across all U.S. time zones, airing live in the Eastern Time Zone and on delay elsewhere. The program features famous faces like Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Michael Strahan, and Ginger Zee.

It offers a wide range of content including current events, guidance on relationships, celebrity updates, cultural insights, fashion, travel, home tips, financial advice, shopping deals, career development, and more.
