Joy Behar’s Ozempic Dig at Guest on ‘The View’ Draws Criticism

Joy Behar's Ozempic Dig at Guest on 'The View' Draws CriticismOzempic may be a diabetes medication, but these days, it’s also the star of some surprisingly spicy daytime TV conversations.

Case in point: a recent episode of The View where a chat about Ozempic’s infamous side effects took an unexpectedly cheeky turn—complete with celebrity banter, unexpected confessions, and Joy Behar doing what she does best: cracking jokes.

A Side Effect Sparks Side-Splitting Jokes

When actor and comedian Mario Cantone dropped by The View on June 20, 2025, the energy on set was already electric.

Moments before his arrival, the co-hosts had been diving into what they called the “Ozempic penis” phenomenon—an alleged side effect of the medication where some men report genital enlargement. It’s unproven, of course, but ripe for on-air teasing.

By the time Cantone joined the conversation, the panel was warmed up and ready for more laughs.

Known for his role as Anthony Marentino on Sex and the City and its spinoff And Just Like That…, Cantone came in ready to talk shop—but not before poking fun at his own recent experience filming a sex scene with co-star Sebastiano Pigazzi.

“The juxtaposition is horrifying,” he joked. “Cause he’s, you know, 12, and I’m 97. I didn’t sleep the night before. But my DMs blew up! It was very nice, the boys came out!”

Joy Behar’s Punchlines Keep the Panel Buzzing

As the conversation continued, Behar—never one to miss a comedic beat—offered him a playful solution to his nerves. “Can we suggest, perhaps, the Ozempic for you?” she quipped.

Cantone volleyed the joke right back, brushing off the suggestion with trademark flair. “No, the Ozempic thing, it’s only because they can finally see it,” he said, adding, “And I don’t need it. I’m Italian!”

The table erupted in laughter, but Behar wasn’t done. Channeling her inner stand-up, she continued with a bit about how men could skip the meds altogether: “You know what guys, you don’t need Ozempic. Just go on TV and drop your pants. The camera adds 10 pounds, try that.” Then she tossed in a final zinger for good measure: “It’s an optical illusion, like when you look in the side mirror and it says, ‘Objects look bigger than they appear to be.’”

Even conservative co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin joined the fun, throwing in a sharp-edged jab about gender inequality. “Of course men get a good side effect and women wouldn’t,” she said with a smirk.

From Medicine Cabinet to Meme Culture

Ozempic may have started as a treatment for Type 2 diabetes, but in pop culture, it’s rapidly become a punchline, a weight-loss craze, and now, apparently, the source of a few bold claims about body parts. Whether or not any of it is scientifically sound hasn’t stopped the speculation—or the comedy.

At the center of it all, Joy Behar proves once again that there’s no topic too weird, wild, or awkward for a good laugh on live TV. And with guests like Cantone, you can count on The View to keep the hot topics—and the heat—coming.
