Yellowstone and many other Taylor Sheridan shows are hugely popular with fans, including Tulsa King, Special Ops: Lioness, 1883 and 1923.
However, fans are criticizing Sheridan for the way he writes his female characters in the latest hit, Landman. Moreover, fans say that one female character in the show has been “ruined” by his writing.
Landman fans turn on Taylor Sheridan over his female characters
Taylor Sheridan comes up with one hit series after another, each starring A-list celebrities and great storylines. However, the Yellowstone boss is facing criticism from fans over the way he treats women in his series. Moreover, Sheridan is being blasted by fans over how he ruins female characters in his shows and most particularly in Landman.
The drama series stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, the titular landman at an oil company. It also stars Demi Moore, Kayla Wallace, Ali Larter and Jon Hamm. However, fans are frustrated by one character in particular in the show, which fans accuse Sheridan of making all his female characters “unlikeable.”
Fans blast Sheridan over Kayla Wallace’s character
While fans have already revealed their hatred of Michelle Randolp’s Ainsley and Ali Larter’s Angela, one character in particular is being made unpopular and that is Kayla Wallace’s character as attorney Rebecca Falcone.
From the start, most fans loved Wallace’s character, who has showed herself to be smart and determined. She attracted many fans when she appeared in the fourth episode. However, in the eighth episode that all changed. In that episode she is in negotiations, and lashed out at everyone in the case, revealing a vile and unlikable disposition.
Once Rebecca revealed this side of her personality, many fans were shocked. While previously they saw her strength and determination, she is now seen as overly confrontational and manipulative. Due to this, fans blame Sheridan for his writing of female characters.
Whiskey Riff quotes what some fans say about Wallace’s character in Landman on social media following that particular episode.

One fan wrote: “There is that saying that you become your own worst enemy. She became hers and Cooper is wiping the floor with her!” Another commented on social media saying:
“Good attorneys don’t need to act like that. When you’re trying to settle a claim for a decedent you are dealing with emotions and not just numbers on a page. You have to be firm with them, but also compassionate.”
One of the worst comments from fans read:
Sheridan only knows how to write women one way, and his only way to show they are strong willed or a “boss b*tch” is to have them be angry and yell at someone.
Readers, are you enjoying Taylor Sheridan’s show Landman? Do you agree with these fans’ sentiments?
