Caitriona Balfe Is Extremely Sad About The Finale Of Outlander

Outlander spoilers, news, and updates tease that Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Randall in the series, expressed her deep sorrow about the end of their beloved series.

Caitriona has been playing the role of Claire since 2014, and it is reasonable for her to feel this sad. She said she’s not looking forward to bidding farewell to the show. It has been almost ten years since the show started, and we know that the fans share the sentiments of Caitriona.

According to her, she felt a deep loss when she found out that the show is about to end. In an interview, she said that the end would be bittersweet and that it would never be easy for her to say goodbye to the show that has been part of her life for almost a decade.

What Is Outlander All About?

Outlander is adapted from the novel series of the same title. The succeeding books were titled Dragonfly in Amber, Voyager, Drums of Autumn, The Fiery Cross, A Breath of Snow and Ashes, An Echo in the Bone, Written in My Own Heart’s Blood, and Go Tell the Bees that I Am Gone. They were published in a span of 20 years since the publication of the first book in 1991. They were written by Diana Gabaldon.

It was set in the late 1980s, but Claire Randall, who was a World War II nurse, was able to travel to 18th-century Scotland, where she met Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan).

Caitriona revealed that because she was playing Claire for so long, it would be hard for her to say goodbye to the character. She said that they had an amazing run and that they had been working together for over ten years by the time the series ended. Currently, the series has seven seasons. They had a long break after 2020 when the pandemic happened. The sixth season was aired on March 6, 2022, after the fifth season ended on May 10, 2020.

Caitriona also added that she would miss the support that she has been getting from her co-actors and colleagues in the show.

Caitriona previously worked on the movie Super and Escape Plan. She also appeared in other TV series, such as H+ and The Beauty Inside.

The seventh season will be divided into two parts. The first part premiered last June 16.
