Actually, a lot of people say they feel a bit jealous of his wife, Kelly Ripa. Actually, some excellent casting makes the show appealing across a wide range of ages. Of course, Hiram Lodge comes across as a powerful man. However, how did he reach the heights of gangsterism in Riverdale? Episode 12 of Season 5 gave fans thorough schooling about his background.

In the episode of Riverdale, fans saw Hiram chatting with Reggie (Charles Melton) and between the dialogue and flashback scenes, it clarified a lot. It took fans back to the days when he wanted to date Hermione, but she wasn’t impressed with his background. After all, his dad only earned a bit of money from cleaning shoes. Hermione wouldn’t date a guy with no money, who looked so poor. So, he managed to cadge some cash by working for Vitto, the biggest gangster at the time. Well, Hiram didn’t blow Vitto away by spilling his name, so Vitto helped to get Hiram out after Hermione asked for his help. After that, he and Hermione became very close. However, his clean-living if poor dad decided to intervene and confronted Vitto. All that did was made him end up dead. So, vowing his revenge, Hiram Lodge went after Vitto and climbed the ladder in the gangster world.

Riverdale fans now know the full backstory about how Hiram became the man he did. Unexpectedly surprised by the quality of the episode, a lot of fans commented on how it really turned out well. On Twitter, one fan wrote, “Might be the best episode of #Riverdale. The best character front and centre.”

Another fan noted, “hiram has a heart, who would have thought.” Plus, fans thought that Mark’s son Michael made for a fantastic younger version of himself.
