Selena Gomez revealed that she’s on board with a Wizards of Waverly Place reboot. On Friday, Dec. 13, the singer answered some of her fans’ most pressing questions during her interview with a radio station in the UK. Among those fan questions was the possibility of a reboot for her hit Disney Channel series, which ended in 2012. Selena was asked if a Wizards of Waverly Place revival would ever happen.
It makes sense with the popularity of Disney+, which launch last month. The 27-year-old pop star revealed that she was all for a reboot. “It makes me very happy,” Gomez said. “It was one of the greatest times of my life. I will never forget it. I still talk to some of the people from the show.”
When Gomez shared her feelings and interests in making a reboot, she added, “I actually would love to. I don’t know when that will happen or if that will happen, but I am 1,000 percent down.” The growing popularity of Disney+ has led to reboots, such as Cheaper by the Dozen, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, and Home Alone. So, the thought of a Wizards of Waverly Place reboot sounds likely. Gomez isn’t the only star who’s down with the idea of a reboot. David Henrie revealed back in September, that Gomez and he have “sit and talk about what would the reboot be, and we have a whole take. We have a whole thing.”

During his interview with Entertainment Tonight, the actor said that he and his famous co-star have talked about bringing back the Disney Channel series “all the time.” He revealed that the reboot should start “a few years later.” He wants the series to start “at the worst place ever so that way throughout the series you give them a nice, beautiful arch of reuniting. Start them off divided.”
Wizards of Waverly Place could happen thanks to the power of Disney. It was just last month that the entertainment giant unveiled its new streaming platform, which already provided a home for other reboots such as Lizzie McGuire and The Proud Family.
