Supernatural Reboot: Jensen Ackles Drops a Possible Hint

Is a Supernatural reboot already in the works? Star Jensen Ackles may have hinted that the series could return to the near future. It’s no secret that The CW series is a hit with fans. So, it’s a shock to see that Supernatural is finally ending its story. Jensen Ackles recently said that anything that doesn’t fit into season 15 will be saved later for the reboot.

The CW is currently taping the last season of the beloved sci-fi show. The CW has also been trying to recreate the magic of Supernatural with its other fantasy shows such as Arrow, Batwoman, Charmed, The Flash, and Roswell. But it’ll be interesting to see if any of these shows will behave the lasting power that Supernatural had. This series followed Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Ackles) on a series of adventures since 2005. It’s become the longest-running live-action fantasy television series of all time.

Why is Supernatural so popular? It’s because of its dedicated fans and creative cast. Eric Kripke is one of the original writers and creators who worked on the show for five seasons. Sera Gamble is a long-term writer and producer who picked up the show during seasons 6 and 7 before Jeremy Carver took over in season 8. Now, Andrew Dabb and Robert Singer serve as co-showrunners since season 12. While Supernatural has had a revolving door of talent, its creators have breathed new life into the show during its long tenure.

Talks of a Supernatural reboot come after Ackles joked that anything that’s left on the cutting room floor will be saved for future episodes. The idea of a Supernatural spinoff has already been explored a few times. There have been several Supernatural spinoffs in the works, including Supernatural: The Animation, Supernatural: Bloodlines, GhostFacers, and Wayward Sisters. While Wayward Sisters had a pilot episode in the works, the series was never picked up by The CW. Supernatural fans created a petition to save Wayward Sisters, but it never panned out.

Ackles’ joke about a Supernatural spinoff has sparked another idea of another series set in the same universe. Supernatural has captivated audiences and built up a steady fan base over the past 15 seasons. It’s a wide variety of actors, actresses, creative directors, and writers have made it clear that this is one of the best shows to work on. However, the possibility of a Supernatural reboot still remains to be seen. Even with 327 episodes behind them, fans have plenty of stories to revisit in the original series.
