The Walking Dead Spoilers: Fans Can’t Get Enough of Negan

Negan (Jeffery Dean Morgan)

The latest Walking Dead scoop has fans talking. Are fans really ready for a likeable Negan? Or, do they like him just the way he is, barbwire baseball bat and all? If you love Negan, then you’re in for a treat with the upcoming Sunday episode. Not only does the new episode “Bonds” show how the Whisperer reacts to the polarizing character, but it also shows a Negan in a new light. It’s no secret that Jeffery Dean Morgan is charming, even when he’s being menacing. And the fans lap it up.

The results of the latest poll show that most Walking Dead fans love Negan. The ex- Savior leader who spent eight years in prison just left Alexandria after accidentally killing Margo (Jerri Tubbs). Margo lost her life when Negan got her away from Whisperer Lydia (Cassady McClincy), the victim of an assault by Alfred (David Shae), Gage (Jackson Pace), and Margo herself. Then Alexandria cast a vote to determine Negan’s fate in which ends up in a tie. The voting process was briefly interrupted by Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) encountering an empty cell.

The Walking Dead Twitter account then asked fans if we should forgive Negan. A staggering 65% voted “yes” while 20% voted “maybe” and 15% voted “no.” Despite his attempts to save Judith (Cailey Fleming) and Dog during the Season 9 finale and saving Aaron (Ross Marquand) and Lydia in Season 10, showrunner Angela Kang doesn’t agree that Negan should be forgiven. He believes that he’s still every bit of the villain he
was when he first came on the show.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Kang said that Negan will always “have an edge.” She thinks he’s too “unpredictable” to be redeemed as a hero. While he’s smart and witty, he’s also strong. He knows how to take care of himself, and he will defend himself if he has to. Walking Dead fans can expect to see a wide range of acting from Negan throughout this season. This should be one of the best seasons for Negan fans since it’s been fun for writers.

However, Jeffery Dean Morgan still gets slammed for playing the villain responsible for the deaths of Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Steven Yeun). But his bond with Judith has had fans seeing him in a different life. Morgan told The Hollywood Reporter that he looks forward to seeing where Negan’s story goes. He looks forward to fleshing out his character and his “having a blast” playing him.

New episodes of The Walking Dead Season 10 air on Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
