The Blacklist Will End In Season 10

The Blacklist spoilers, news, and updates tease that after a decade run, NBC’s The Blacklist announced their upcoming season would be their last. The final season will start airing on February 26, 2023.

The show’s executive producer John Eisendrath announced, “After 10 years, hundreds of Blacklist cases, and more than 200 episodes produced, we’re honored to reach our conclusion.”

He also added that it was fun to develop different Blacklisters to provoke Raymond Reddington (James Spader) in every episode. He then thanked the producers, actors, and writers who made the whole series possible and that he was excited to do a final season with all of them.

The Blacklist Spoilers – 10 years And 10 Seasons

The series first started airing on September 23, 2013, with one of the original protagonists, FBI Agent Elizabeth Keen, played by Megan Boone. Her character was later killed off in the Season 8 finale after she tried to kill Raymond Reddington (James Spader) in an attempt to take over his business and the Blacklist.

Reddington is currently the primary character after Elizabeth Keen was out of the picture. The series revolved around his relationship with Elizabeth Keen as the episodes unravel the mystery of his true identity and why he was protective of the late agent.

The Blacklist is one of a few series that offers a villainy main character that you grow to love as you get to know why Raymond Reddington does what he does.

The Blacklist During The pandemic

The series also made a remarkable move during the start of the pandemic in 2020, as they turned the final episode of the seventh season into animation after a production shutdown.

John Eisendrath said in a panel interview: “If we had known how much work it takes to do it, we never would have suggested it.”

He continued, “It was not a great idea, but it was an idea born out of desperation and maybe that’s where some of the good ideas come from.”

Clark Middleton, who played the recurring character Glen Carter, also passed away the same year due to complications from the West Nile virus.

James Spader posted a tribute on his Instagram shortly after Carter’s death: “RIP Middleton. ‘Glen’ will be forever in our hearts. #clarkmiddleton #nbc #theblacklist.”

The Blacklist is a highly-rated American crime series, with a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
