The Crown Season 5: New Character Joins Cast

Netflix The Crown spoilers reveal some new faces will be debuting in new episodes.  The popular series will have a star-studded slate of actors joining its royal line-up in season five.

Adding to the already announced line-up of Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Dominic West as Prince Charles and Leslie Manville as Princess Margaret, Jonny Lee Miller has now been slated to appear as former U.K. Prime Minister John Major in the upcoming season of the Golden Globe-winning series.

The show’s Twitter page confirmed the news writing, “Jonny Lee Miller will play John Major in the fifth season of The Crown.”

There are reportedly two more seasons of the show left, with season five expected to premiere in 2022, and season six likely to premiere the year after.

Creator Peter Morgan explained in a recent interview that he needs the time off to both shoot and write the next season, since the show films in two-season chunks.
