“The Crown” Sensationally Portrays The Royal Family’s Controversial Years

“The Crown” is back and it has got the royal family trending worldwide, as people jump in to share their opinions on the sensational topics explored in the series’ latest season.

Royal experts and commentators are chiming in, but mostly, there’s a general outcry by royal fans for fans of the Netflix show to keep calm and know that what they’re watching is fiction.

The Crown

Diana’s emotions and expressions as she tells the story of how the firm has turned against her. We see William (Rufus Kampa) take a central stage and plead with his mother to refrain from sharing private moments of her life. When she doesn’t heed her son’s pleads, William is shown looking dejected among his school friends at Eton.

Another striking part of the series was when William and younger brother Harry (portrayed by Will Powell) witness their parents’ intense argument during a holiday in Italy. When Charles leaves Diana in tears gain, the two young boys move in to comfort her. The future heir, Charles (played by Dominic West) is the character the fifth season focuses on mostly as he’s portrayed as a man mean to his wife and as the instigator of a “rival court” in the hopes of getting his mother, the Queen, to step down decades before her death.

This storyline of Charles conniving with former PM John Major to make the Queen abdicate early is one that has already received intensive backlash.

“The Crown” – Portrays Princess Diana As A Useless Flirt

Diana, in her own part, did not come out unscathed in this sensational series. Portrayed by Elizabeth Debicki as a shallow and dim woman, she’s seen flirting at the most absurd moments.

One of those moments was when she accompanied a friend to hospital where her friend’s husband just received heart surgery, which has failed. When the doctor comes to deliver the sad news, Diana flirts with him, much to the dismay of her friend.
