The NBC television show often jumps from the past to the present. Fans can expect to see a five-month time jump. Actress Chrissy Metz, who plays Kate Pearson told TV Line that baby Jack will be five months old when the series returns. However, viewers will also see more of the past. The creator teased that they will “play in time in a surprising way.” He added that at one point, the present will become the past.

Since the beginning, the focus of the show, especially in flashbacks, has been on Jack Pearson (Milo Ventimiglia). Although Jack and Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore) will always be center stage, expect to see less of Jack and more of Rebecca. This includes her impact on the family and the journey she has taken in her life.

The season 3 finale left viewers with a lot of questions. For example, who is the mother of Kevin Pearson’s (Justin Hartley) son? Where are Annie Pearson (Faithe Herman) and her adopted sister, Deja (Lyric Ross)? Sterling K. Brown told Entertainment Weekly to expect answers to these questions.
