Vienna Blood Spoilers: PBS to Premiere New British Drama in the U.S.

Vienna Blood is set to make its debut on PBS in the U.S. British television lovers already know about this dark mystery-crime drama that’s set during the Australian capital in the early 1900s. The series is adapted from Frank Tallis’s best-selling Liebermann novels that were critically acclaimed by Steve Thompson.
Vienna Blood is about an Austrian detective and a student of Sigmund Freud who team up to solve some of the deadliest and mysterious crimes in early 1900s Vienna, according to British TV Place.
Max Liebermann stars as the young English doctor who studies under famous psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud. Max has to learn how to understand the criminal mind. His comes across Oskar Reinhardt (Juergen Maurer), a detective from the Vienna Police Department, who’s dealing with a complex case. Max offers his skills of forensics and perception so he can help Oskar with each of his cases. The two work as they try to understand the human behavior.
Vienna Blood includes a cast of well-rounded British actors, including Amelia Bullmore (Scott & Bailey), Charlene McKenna (Ripper Street) Conleth Hill (Game of Thrones), Jessica D Gouw (Underground), and Luise von Finckh (Castle Einstein). The series was filmed on location in Vienna. Robert Dornhelm and Umut Dag are the minds behind this incredible series. The series is also part of Endor Productions and MR Film for Austria’s ORF and Germany’s ZDF. These production companies are co-producers.

Vienna Blood is expected to make its debut in America in a series of three two-part stories on Sundays. It’ll run from Jan. 19 through Feb. 23 at 10:00 p.m. EST on PBS.
