Whoopi Goldberg Blasts Fans, Declares “I Don’t Need You”

The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Fires Back At Fans, Says “I Don’t Need You”If there’s one thing The View has mastered over the years, it’s stirring up conversation—whether it’s around the latest political drama or the backlash that inevitably follows.

But for Whoopi Goldberg, the backlash isn’t a surprise anymore. It’s expected. And she’s no longer entertaining it.

This week’s episode saw the co-hosts reflecting on criticism—how they receive it, whether they care, and how it affects them.

The catalyst? A candid confession by late-night host Jimmy Fallon, who opened up on a podcast about still wanting people to like him, even in his incredibly successful career.

Sunny Hostin was stunned by that vulnerability. “He’s wildly popular,” she noted, surprised that someone like Fallon would still be wrestling with the need for public approval.

Meanwhile, Joy Behar chimed in with her own take on internet toxicity, pointing out how the digital world has become a breeding ground for criticism, especially for outspoken women on television.

And then the spotlight turned to Whoopi.

“No, I Don’t”: Whoopi Goldberg Doesn’t Need Your Approval

Sunny turned to her with a pointed question: Did she care what people thought about her?

Without missing a beat, Goldberg shot back, “No. No, I don’t.” The audience erupted in applause.

She wasn’t done.

“Because nobody can make me feel worse about myself than I can do to me,” Whoopi said with the kind of clarity that only comes from years in the public eye. “I don’t need you, who don’t know me, talking any crap to me, because you don’t know anything. Why am I taking time to be hurt by something you say, when either you don’t listen, or you are choosing to take this the way you want to take it?” That’s the kind of energy Whoopi brings to the table—raw, unfiltered, and deeply self-assured.

When Criticism Becomes a Daily Routine

She went on to speak about the relentless criticism aimed at her and her co-hosts—something that has practically become a fixture of their daily lives.

“None of us start out to step in poop,” she said. “But, we are in poop constantly, because people decide that you’ve said something that you didn’t say. But now you can’t even tell what’s real or what’s not.”

For longtime viewers, it’s no surprise that The View often lands in hot water when diving into politics or social issues. The hosts are unapologetically outspoken, and that candor tends to polarize.

Joy Behar Slams Social Media Trolls

Joy Behar backed Whoopi’s sentiments, drawing attention to the venom that flows freely on social media. She chalked much of it up to the “keyboard warriors” lurking in comment sections—then delivered a trademark Joy punchline: most of them, she quipped, are probably holed up in their mother’s basements.

But through all the noise and hate, one message rang loud and clear across that studio table: validation from haters isn’t on anyone’s wishlist.

For some of them, the skin is a little thicker. For others, it’s a work in progress. But as far as Whoopi’s concerned? She’s not losing sleep over people who don’t know her—and never will.

We don’t need her either! They could all vanish into thin air and most of us wouldnt notice, except it would make the world a better place.
IF she and Joy really don’t care, then why the big speech about it? Sounds like they care to me.
And guess what Whoopi? You DO need us – or at least the ones still ignorant enough to watch your crap show. They’re the imbeciles who have kept you on the air this long. But be careful, cause even imbeciles can only take so much. Your vile, hate filled conversations full of digs, innuendos, one sided opinions, and a whole lot of fake news, can only go so far. I’m not sure how the old hags have stayed on this long. Sure doesn’t say much for the “intelligence” of the viewers.
