As “The Walking Dead” is working on wrapping it up, it’s also working on a new franchise titled “Tales Of The Walking Dead,” and although this new one will premiere on August 14, it has shown us a sneak peek on what to expect, the trailer came out on Friday, July 22, during San Diego’s Comic-Con.
Tales Of The Walking Dead — What To Expect
There won’t be anything linked to “walking dead” without zombies in it so, just like The Walking Dead, Tales Of The Walking Dead is packed full of zombies. The AMC series is an anthology which features six episodes of all different standalone storylines which will be gradually connected together later on by attentive fans.
There are changes in the casts by the way, new casts were brought in and the casts are very familiar faces like Terry Crews, Olivia Munn, Danny Ramirez, Anthony Edwards, Poppy Lui, etc.
In the trailer, Terry Crews’ character was shown where he was terrified and saying that they thought he was nuts because no one believed something like that could ever happen. “They thought I was nuts, no one thought this could happen. No one ever thinks bad things will happen.”
An old character from The Walking Dead that’s been retained in Tales Of The Walking Dead is Samantha Morton, Samantha would be returning as a new character Dee who would later become an Alpha. Now, it’s worthy of note that Samantha’s character in The Walking Dead was also an Alpha but she later (spoiler alert) died in season 10. This very one, she would be coming as a pre-Alpha.
Tales Of The Walking Dead — Terry Crews Welcomed Into The Franchise
For someone who practically grew up watching and idolizing each and every series of all sequels of the AMC movie, Crews was honored to be invited to be a member of the cast. Speaking exclusively to E! News, Terry Crews didn’t hide his excitement when explaining that one of the casts who he’s a huge fan of, out of nowhere, welcomed him to the franchise.
“I got a DM on Instagram from Melissa McBride,” Terry revealed. “She said, ‘Welcome to our world.’ As a fan, to be a part of this universe now and to get that introduction from her, I was like, ‘Oh my god.'”
Terry Crews was paired with his former The Newsroom co-star Olivia Munn in Tales Of The Walking Dead, Crews likened the filming experience to music. “It’s almost like a song. We get to sing the same song, but our way,” he explained. “Our version. Our thing. Which becomes a whole other thing. Dolly Parton did ‘I Will Always Love You’ and then when Whitney Houston did it, it was a whole different deal. With every episode, we stay in the world of Walking Dead, but it’s our song.”
