Hallmark Channel News: Melissa Claire Egan Dishes Her New Movie On 'Home And Family'Melissa Claire Egan is set to appear on Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family on August 30 where she will talk about her role as Chelsea Newman on “The Young and the Restless” and her upcoming Hallmark Movies & Mysteries film titled “Holiday for Heroes.”

Her new movie revolves around the story of a woman and a soldier who write letters for one another for a year until they finally meet in person. The film is expected to air on November 1.

Viewers may recall that Egan returned to the canvas in June as part of the storyline, which revealed that Adam was alive and living in Las Vegas. Chelsea came back to Genoa City to let Adam know, after he reached out to her, that she has already moved on. Unfortunately, her husband Calvin Boudreaux (Gordon Thompson) died, and she ended up staying with her ex-fiance Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). With her mother, Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach) set to return to the canvas on August 8, a lot of viewers believe that she’s currently running a con.

Egan has earned two Daytime Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Actress for her impeccable portrayal of her character Chelsea in 2013 and 2014. This is not her first stint on soaps as she also appeared as Annie Lavery on “All My Children” for five years, in 2009 and from 2011 to 2012. During this time, she was nominated thrice for Best Support Actress.

Things are bound to be more complicated for Chelsea as her mother and son, Conner Newman, who will be played by Judah Mackey, turns up on Genoa City next week. Mackey will take over the role, which was previously portrayed by Gunner and Ryder Gadbois. Viewers may recognize him from other shows like “Criminal Minds” and Netflix’s “What/If.”

Once Adam finds out that Connor is in town, it won’t take long for him to demand visitation. Knowing how protective of a father he is, he will surely want to be with his son. As he still faces a legal custody battle for his other son, Christian Newman, perhaps Connor’s appearance in Genoa City signals that he’ll finally get a chance to be a father. Hopefully, Egan will drop some hints on what to expect on “The Young and the Restless.”
