The Young and the Restless (Y&R) begins today with Dina (Marla Adams) sitting with Abby (Melissa Ordway), who tells a confused Dina there is no bridge today; but while Abby is out with Arturo (Jason Canela) Mrs. Martinez, the nurse and housekeeper will be with Dina. Dina wants the housekeeper to make sure the children’s rooms are clean. After Abby leaves the room, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) comes in the house and Dina isn’t pleased.
Victoria And Sharon Discuss Blackmailer
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) comes to Crimson, telling Sharon (Sharon Case) that she feels they made the right choice as they haven’t heard anything from their blackmailer. Sharon hasn’t heard anything from Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), but she reminds Victoria she has to play it careful with him, because he is smart and it feels like he can see right through her.
Just as Nick (Joshua Morrow) walks in, Victoria wants to know if there is something going on with Sharon and Rey? Meanwhile, Lola (Sasha Calle) and Arturo wait at the GCAC for Abby; he questions her about Kyle (Michael Mealor) and why she suddenly doesn’t have time for him.
Dina Turns On Ashley
Ashley talks to Dina about how family breakfast with John (Jerry Douglas) was always his favorite time of the day and it was a shame she was gone for so long, especially for her children who missed her so much. Abby interrupts them, and when Ashley tries to talk to her Abby doesn’t want to talk to her and tells her grandmother she will be back soon.
Dina demands to know why Ashley upset that “young girl”. Dina won’t allow Ashley go upstairs to get her things as only family is allowed up there and she isn’t an Abbott, saying she will call the police; Ashley walks up the stairs telling her to do whatever she has to do!
Sharon Dismisses Nick
Sharon asks Nick about Christian; but quickly shuts down his invite to his place, saying she only wants to be in Christian’s life. Rey walks into the coffeehouse and Nick doesn’t like that Rey comes in between their conversation, but Sharon dismisses Nick saying Rey’s bed is a far more interesting thing to discuss.
Nick rolls his eyes at their mattress conversation, telling Sharon to call him later so they can talk about their kids. Sharon offers to help Rey with shopping for sheets, and goes upstairs with him to check out the bed.
Lola reveals to Arturo what transpired between Kyle and Summer (Hunter King). Arturo explains how he met Summer and Lola has a newfound respect for Abby when she dumped a drink on Arturo for dancing with Summer. Arturo tells Lola that her eyes are giving her away and that she cares for Kyle just as Abby arrives saying more Abbott family drama, admitting they should have their own reality show; Lola says she needs to get her truck ready for the day and give Abby and Arturo time alone. He tries to comfort Abby, who says she hates her family who only hurt each other; Arturo reminds her that at the end of the day, they are still family.
Dina is trying to call the GCPD and Ashley tells her she is taking family mementos that belong to her. Ashley stands, saying these are her things with daddy. Dina feels she is stealing things from her little girl because she is jealous of the life Dina had with John and her children. Ashley tells her to keep it and sits in another chair and cries as Dina talks proudly of Traci (Beth Maitland) and little Jackie (Peter Bergman) and the great memories.
Ashley Fights With Dina
Ashley blurts out that all she remembers is the yelling, slamming doors and the sound of Dina’s car pulling out of the garage and Daddy only started the tradition of sitting around the table after Dina moved out. She tells Dina that she took the feeling away of being the most important person in the world and its been shown to her that she is not worthy of being part of the family legacy. Dina insists that she loves Ashley and she swears there is proof but Ashley leaves saying it doesn’t exist.
Abby unloads everything on Arturo about what happened between Jack and Ashley; Arturo defends Ashley’s actions since Jack was pretty cruel. Arturo feels that the Abbott family isn’t broken, they just have to work harder to put it back together. Abby doesn’t think there is anything anyone can do to fix it. Victoria is about to go out for a run when she sees Ashley at Crimson, who brings her up to speed on everything at Jabot and in her personal life.
Rey praises Sharon for the work she is doing, when they get to the GCPD, he finds what she bought at Fenmore’s. Sharon says sometimes change can be good, and Rey wonders if she is referring to her and Nick. She confesses that she feels like she has turned a corner and he hopes that leads to something good.

Dina Wants A Paper From John’s Safe
Dina is desperately searching the house for something when Kyle comes home. Kyle sees she is distraught as she says she is a very good mother, and she has proof. She told John to put it in his will and into his safe. Kyle figures out it they are looking for a paper with a signature, in a safety deposit box at Jabot. Kyle believes he knows where the papers are and suggests they take a drive.
Victoria learns Ashley resorted to extreme measures, but not anything worse than what happened to her; they seem to be in agreement on the double standards when it comes to business. Victoria suggests the Abbotts could dress up at the Newmans for Halloween this year; she is shocked to find out the Abbotts can be just as ruthless as the Newmans. Ashley admits she was just fed up with being bullied and she has no regrets for anything she has done. Victoria doesn’t reveal anything but hopes everything she has done is worth it too.
Abby is grateful for Arturo’s support, finding it therapeutic to vent to him; he has quite a bit experience when it comes to family hurting each other. Nick asks for Abby’s help, wanting to know anything she knows about Rey.
Sharon And Rey Get Closer
Back at the GCPD, Sharon agrees to finish the victim part of Rey’s report. Sharon gets a call, thrilled to be invited to dinner; Rey learns it was Mariah (Camryn Grimes) as Sharon shares her history with Mariah and her twin sister, Cassie. He sympathizes with her, revealing he was not lucky enough to have kids; as Mia never wanted them. He wanted to be the dad he never had, with a house full of love. Sharon suggests that sometimes people change their minds about having kids. She rushes off when she gets an email, telling him to send her the report.
Ashley glances back into Crimson one last time, but crumbles into a chair unable to walk out. Kyle brings Dina to the CEO office at Jabot. Dina asks where John is, saying she is there to meet John for lunch at the country club. She then points where the safe is and that her and John put papers into the safe together to protect Ashley. Kyle removes the painting and knocks on the wall. He pops off the paneling and there is an old safe. Dina is thrilled to says she wasn’t lying and she knows the combination as it’s her birthday; the safe opens.
Nick wants Abby to lean the conversation, feeling its not an unreasonable request for her to use Arturo to get information on Rey, so he can spy on Sharon. She says he sounds exactly like a jealous ex, but he tells her he wants to know why Rey is so interested in Sharon and why Rey is lying and getting so close to Sharon when he has a wife. Abby admits she is curious but she feel right lying to Arturo; she ultimately agrees to help Nick.
Blackmailer Wants Their Money Or Else
Victoria ends a business call when Sharon barges in her office, telling her to check her email. It says, You now owe $249,999.00, if it isn’t wired by midnight tonight, the police will know what is buried under here.” Attached is a picture of the memorial statue placed in Chancellor park where they buried JT Hellstrom’s (Thad Luckinbill) body.
