Y&R spoilers reveal that Chance made the decision to drop the investigation into Ashland’s death. Chance already talked to the Newman family to tell them the news. Chance also shared the information with Abby, who was relieved.

Then, Chance had to tell Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart), who wasn’t happy about it. Chance explained that the decision has already been made and the chief of police agreed with him. Kevin is worried about blowback but Chance feels that there’s nothing he can do about the situation.

Chance is clearly struggling with the decision he made. Abby paid a special visit to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) to ask him not to thank Chance. However, Abby and Victor’s conversation was interrupted when Chance showed up. It is teased that Abby will worry about the effect that the decision is having on Chance.

While Chance is struggling, he will spend more time at work on other cases. Abby probably hoped that once the Ashland case was closed, Chance would spend more time at home. Abby made a special mention of how many family dinners Chance has missed. Abby also was frustrated that Chance was missing Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor’s (Rainn and River Ware) milestones.

Chance might feel that he can’t be completely honest about his feelings with Abby. After all, she is a Newman. Recently, Chance and Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) shared scenes. Is it possible that Chance might confide in Sally and if so, could they get a little bit too close? Perhaps Chance will unexpectedly have an affair with Sally.

Chance and Abby’s marriage has been solid for a while. There are cracks in the foundation, though. Plus, Victor’s actions could have long-lasting consequences for other people. This could include affecting Chance and Abby’s marriage.
