The Young And the Restless Spoilers: Diane Humiliated, Seeks Jack’s Sympathy

The Young and the Restless spoilers show that Talia Morgan (Natalie Morales) is going to do what she came to Genoa City to do, and that is to dig up the ugly past of Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) so that the peanut gallery of Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) can try to chase her out of town.

Susan Walters commented on this plan in Soap Opera Digest saying, “I guess Talia wasn’t that charmed by Diane after all because the article still comes out and it’s not very flattering. Unfortunately, all of it’s true, so it’s not like she can sue anyone for libel.”

Diane is hit pretty hard by this, especially after all the work she has done to reconnect with her son, Kyle Abbott (Micheal Mealor), and even Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). “She’s ashamed and humiliated, and even though Kyle already knows all this stuff, did he really need to see it in black and white again? Just knowing there’s somebody out there against you makes you a little nervous that every nook and cranny of your life can be exposed. It’s quite disconcerting because Diane is genuinely trying to make a new life for herself,” Walters continued.

According to Susan Walters herself, Diane has been completely genuine in her attempt to reconnect with her son and try to move on from her past. Unfortunately, she came back to Genoa City where the immortal 15-year-olds roam.

Y&R – Diane Jenkins Looks For Jack’s Support

As Diane is trying to keep her head down and navigate this mess, she runs to Jack at Jabot seeking his guidance. “She laments that there’s nothing in the article about her effort to become a better person.  However, Jack basically says, ‘Don’t play the victim. You had to know this could happen.’ Still, Diane believes that any empathy that Diane gets from Jack is a win for her.”

If Diane doesn’t receive support from Jack, it may look bad to everyone else. I have to think that Kyle would be the one to step out and explain how his mother has tried her best to move on from her past and correct the errors she made. He will have to be the voice of reason.
